Former Vice President and a leading figure in the coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar has called on voters to come out in large numbers to vote for ADC candidates across the six Area Councils in the upcoming FCT Council elections.
Atiku who shared this via his official X account on Wednesday night said the election will serve as a litmus test on the preparedness of Nigerians to vote out the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
“This election is very important. It will say a lot about how ready the managers of our elections are to deliver free, fair and credible polls. It will also say a lot about how ready people are to chase the APC out.
“Our party has fielded candidates with competence, capacity and character to offer quality leadership across local councils in Abuja. Voters have the responsibility to defy all forms of intimidation and make the right choice,” he added.
Atiku maintained that the APC-led Federal Government under Bola Tinubu has failed citizens on many fronts; the economy, education, and security which according to him has allowed criminal elements to hold citizens to ransom. The FCT Area Council Election is slated for Saturday, February 21, 2026.
