Abuja, Nigeria — The Federal Government has announced Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-al-Adha celebration. This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior on Monday.
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated all Muslim faithful in Nigeria and the Diaspora on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha.
He urged the Muslim Ummah to continue to embrace the values of sacrifice and unwavering faith as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Dr. Tunji-Ojo also called on Nigerians to use the festive period as a time of reflection and prayer for a peaceful and prosperous nation.
Highlighting the commitment of the present administration, the Minister reaffirmed that the government’s people-oriented reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are designed to reposition Nigeria on the path of national progress and development.
While extending warm wishes for a joyful Eid-al-Adha, Dr. Tunji-Ojo appealed to all Nigerians to support the government’s efforts in rebuilding the country’s glory and achieving a united and thriving nation.
