Abuja, Nigeria — The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has distributed a total of ₦1.818 trillion to the Federal Government, States, and Local Government Councils for the month of June 2025. The allocation followed FAAC’s July meeting held in Abuja and chaired by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun.
The disbursement was drawn from a gross total revenue of ₦4.232 trillion, which included Statutory Revenue, Value Added Tax (VAT), Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), Exchange Difference, and a ₦100 billion augmentation from non-mineral revenue.
From this amount, the Federal Government received ₦645.383 billion, States ₦607.417 billion, and Local Government Councils ₦444.853 billion. Oil-producing states received ₦120.759 billion as 13% derivation from mineral revenue.
FAAC disclosed that ₦162.786 billion was earmarked for cost of collection, while ₦2.251 trillion was allocated to Transfers, Interventions, and Refunds. The gross VAT revenue for June 2025 stood at ₦678.165 billion, a decline of ₦64.655 billion from the previous month.
After deductions, ₦631.507 billion was distributed: the Federal Government received ₦94.726 billion, States ₦315.754 billion, and LGs ₦221.027 billion.
Gross Statutory Revenue for the month rose significantly to ₦3.385 trillion, up from ₦2.094 trillion in May. After accounting for costs and transfers, ₦1.018 trillion was shared among the three tiers of government, with the Federal Government receiving ₦474.455 billion, States ₦240.650 billion, and LGs ₦185.531 billion. An additional ₦118.256 billion was allocated as derivation revenue.
A further ₦30.380 billion from EMTL was also distributed: ₦4.375 billion went to the Federal Government, ₦14.582 billion to States, and ₦10.208 billion to LGs. The cost of collection was put at ₦1.215 billion.
During the meeting, Mr Wale Edun expressed condolences over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as a national loss. He commended FAAC members for their continued commitment to achieving the economic goals of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.
