Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s Local Government Councils tour continued as he visited Mayo Belwa Local Government Area on the second day of his statewide engagement.

‎The tour, designed to assess ongoing projects and interact directly with residents, featured inspections, commissioning of completed projects, and discussions with community stakeholders.

‎Governor Fintiri began the Mayo Belwa visit with an inspection of the ongoing remodeling and upgrade of the Mayo Belwa Cottage Hospital. He commended the quality and pace of work, describing the project as a vital step toward improving healthcare delivery at the grassroots.

‎In a landmark announcement, the Governor declared the upgrading of the facility from a Cottage Hospital to a full-fledged General Hospital. He revealed that the hospital would be equipped with modern medical facilities and staffed with qualified personnel, with formal commissioning scheduled for later this year.

‎The Governor also commissioned the Mayo Belwa International Cattle Market, one of eight such markets being developed across Adamawa State by his administration to boost livestock trade and economic activities.

‎Reaffirming the purpose of the tour, Governor Fintiri explained that the exercise was strictly about governance and development, not politics.

‎“This is not a campaign tour,” he stated. “It is an opportunity to engage with our people, inspect projects, commission completed ones, and listen to the concerns of communities. Politics has its own time.”

‎He added that when the appropriate time for campaigns arrives, his administration would be fully prepared to present its achievements to the people.

‎Governor Fintiri expressed appreciation for the warm reception he received from the people of Mayo Belwa, noting that their enthusiasm reflects confidence in his administration’s policies and programmes.

‎He assured residents that his government remains committed to equitable development and to ensuring that every local government area benefits from impactful and people-oriented projects.

‎The Mayo Belwa visit forms part of Governor Fintiri’s ongoing effort to strengthen infrastructure, healthcare, and economic opportunities across Adamawa State.
