Governor Soludo Commiserates with Families of Victims in Anambra Cult Clash

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the families and community members affected by the tragic cult-related killings in Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area. The incident occurred on Sunday during the community’s New Yam festival, where no fewer than 13 people were reported dead in the violent clash.

Speaking at Eke Market in Awka on Monday during his routine monitoring activities across the state, Governor Soludo condemned the act and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice. He reassured the public that every effort will be made to combat the menace of cultism in the state.

“Every avoidable loss of life in Anambra shatters my heart, especially when young lives are cut short,” Soludo stated. He further emphasized that the violence between rival cult groups is unacceptable, stressing that the state’s anti-cultism law would be enforced to its fullest extent.

The governor called on parents, community leaders, and all stakeholders to join forces in the fight against cultism, urging them to take action at home and within their communities. “We can’t sit back while our children destroy themselves. Let’s work together for a safer Anambra,” he added.

Governor Soludo reiterated his commitment to ensuring a lawful and peaceful society and urged the public to go about their daily activities without fear as efforts continue to apprehend those responsible for the attack.
