‎Hundreds of members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) on Sunday took to the streets of Kano to protest the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

‎The demonstrators, who carried Iranian flags and portraits of Khamenei, described the march as a solidarity action following reports that joint U.S.–Israeli strikes led to the Iranian leader’s death

‎The peaceful procession commenced at about 3 p.m. from Fagge Central Mosque and proceeded through major parts of the city before concluding at the IMN Islamic Centre in Kofar Waika. At the centre, participants held speeches and special prayer sessions.

‎Scholars who addressed the gathering spoke extensively on the evolving situation in the Middle East and its potential global consequences. They also offered prayers for the people of Iran, seeking divine intervention amid the escalating tensions in the region.

‎When contacted for comments, the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna, said he would confirm details from the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area. As of the time this report was filed, no official statement had been released.

‎The protest remained orderly throughout, with no reports of violence or security breaches.
