Fuji Mastro, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, will be performing at the City Pavilion, London to mark Nigeria’s 64th Independence anniversary.
This was revealed at a press conference by well-known promoter Eniola Omobolanle Olatise of Alexes Promotions.
She said that the anniversary celebration would also feature popular Afro hip hop artist, 9ice on the day. Olatise stated that KWAM 1 would be gracing the occasion not just as a musical legend but as a godfather who has been a tremendous blessing to her.
She said, ” KWAM 1 does not entertain people strictly for money anymore. As a matter of fact, he does not cherish the idea of having money pasted on his head anymore. He is in the class of his own.”.
Olatise added that it is a joy to be KWAM 1’s promoter and that since she started the company with the legend in 2019, the connection has been very easy.
“Expectedly, there will always be a few disagreements in business, but KWAM 1 is more than just a business partner to me. To me, he is a mentor and a father figure. She said, “He’s a straight shooter who never breaks agreements or rules.”
Olatise described all KWAM 1’s shows in the UK as sellouts and that she is planning a bigger one for October 1, Nigeria Independence Day where creme de la creme in the United Kingdom will be entertained by him. “I’m a socialite even though, I have a lot of businesses that keep me awake every day. I only sleep for four hours out of the 24 hours due to my busy schedule, but then I enjoy myself with good music. I’m a lover of music and, to be precise, a KWAM 1 fan,” she said.
She informed reporters that her group is organizing a “Fuji Festival” in the UK, which will bring together all of the Fuji musicians worldwide to showcase their artistic creations. “This is in the works and will be really significant. You are aware of what it signifies that I am from Ibadan. We will make sure that the Fuji Festival is properly run so that everyone may witness the pinnacle of Yoruba culture and how Fuji has developed into a global musical force.
When asked if she planned to support any other Fuji star at this time or in the future, Olatise stated she would only support KWAM 1, who she said had grown to be a member of her family.
