Captain of Chelsea, Reece James, has signed a new long-term contract that will keep him at the Premier League club until 2032. The England international committed his future to the London side after agreeing to a six-year extension, ending speculation over his long-term stay at Stamford Bridge.

James, a product of Chelsea’s academy, joined the club at the age of six and progressed through the youth ranks before making his senior debut in 2019 after a successful loan spell at Wigan Athletic.

Since breaking into the first team, the 26-year-old has established himself as one of the club’s key players and was appointed captain in 2023. He has made more than 200 appearances for the Blues, contributing crucial goals and assists from the right-back position.

During his time with Chelsea, James has helped the club win several major trophies, including the UEFA Champions League in 2021 and the FIFA Club World Cup later that year.

The new deal reinforces Chelsea’s commitment to keeping its core players for the long term as the club continues to rebuild and compete for domestic and European honours.
