Rufai Oseni, a journalist with over 1.2 million followers on X, ( formerly known as Twitter), wrote today on the platform that he has formally reported the presence of an iron gate on a federal pedestrian bridge in Ikeja, Lagos, without authorization.

The journalist wrote that the pedestrian bridge is located across a railway line opposite Ajayi Farm Bus Stop in Ikeja. The journalist noted that the presence of an iron gate on the pedestrian bridge has restricted its use. He noted that the installation may have been done by an individual or community and he claimed this was done with the approval of the Ikeja Local Government authority.

The journalist said that railway assets and pedestrian bridges are under the jurisdiction of the Nigerian Railway Corporation and that any alteration or addition of a structure should only be done with official authorization.

The journalist noted that he attached images of the iron gate and its location and that he requested an investigation into the situation and its resolution.
