Lagos, Nigeria — The Lagos State Government, through Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Adetokunbo Wahab, announced today that operatives of the Lagos State Taskforce and the Ministry carried out enforcement activities across different parts of the city. The operations targeted individuals engaging in street disorder and related infractions, commonly referred to as Omotakus, with the aim of restoring order, improving safety, and protecting public spaces.

According to the Commissioner, the enforcement activities are part of ongoing efforts to maintain an orderly and safe environment for residents and visitors. He emphasized that all actions are conducted under existing legal frameworks and guided by the responsibility to safeguard lives and property.

“These actions are in line with our commitment to keeping Lagos orderly, safe, and liveable for all,” Wahab said. “While enforcement remains firm, it is carried out in a structured manner to ensure compliance with the law.”

The operations took place in multiple locations across the city, reflecting the government’s approach to implementing regulations consistently and maintaining public safety.
