The Lagos State government announced today on its Facebook office handle that The Lagos Bus Services Limited (LBSL) is committed to being honest and keeping passengers safe. They strongly condemned a recent case where two of their bus drivers were caught stealing fuel.
The Lagos State government said that the LBSL’s Managing Director, Mr. Idowu Oguntona, reported that the fuel theft occurred on the 10th of March 2026, and was first seen in a video shared to the public.
The government stated that the individuals involved were caught and handed to the police for investigation.
The statement said Oguntona stressed that LBSL takes honesty and high standards seriously and mentioned that theft is wrong and he appreciated the person who reported the incident.
The government further added that the LBSL does not tolerate bad behavior, and gave warning to workers. They mentioned that any worker caught stealing and violating rules will be punished right away and could be taken to court.
The State government concluded that taking strong action in this case is meant to stop others from doing the same and show that LBSL is serious about doing the right thing in its service.
