Lagos Residents to Experience Intermittent Power Outages as EKEDC Continues Transmission Line Maintenance

Lagos, Nigeria- Residents in parts of Lagos will experience intermittent power supply on Sunday, February 1, 2026, as the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) continues maintenance on the Ajah Alagbon 330kV transmission line.

According to the announcement made Sunday morning, part of the maintenance work was completed yesterday, and the remaining work is scheduled to resume and be concluded today between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.

The areas expected to be affected include Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Adeniji, Idumagbo, Dolphin and surrounding communities.

EKEDC stated that intermittent load shedding, or rotational electricity outages, will occur across the affected locations during the 12-hour maintenance period. The company also apologised for the inconvenience caused.
