Lagos, Nigeria- The Lagos State Government has announced that the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, hosted Miss Esther Etiyemonu, the One Day Governor, on a courtesy visit to his office at Alausa.

In a statement, Mr. Agoro congratulated Miss Etiyemonu on her achievement, commending her diligence, intelligence, and responsibility in earning the opportunity to serve as a leader among her peers.

He highlighted that the One Day Governor initiative is aimed at exposing young people to governance, leadership, and public service, while inspiring students to strive for excellence and civic engagement.

Mr. Agoro reportedly advised Miss Etiyemonu to view her achievement as a stepping stone for future leadership roles, emphasizing the importance of responsibility, service, and integrity. He also congratulated her on winning the 21st Spelling Bee Competition, attributing her success to discipline, dedication, and perseverance.

According to the Lagos State Government, Miss Etiyemonu expressed gratitude to Mr. Agoro for his support of public servants, citing welfare packages and staff housing initiatives that have enhanced productivity and performance. She encouraged students to embrace learning, competition, and positive challenges.

The statement added that the visit was witnessed by several dignitaries, including Mrs. Sunkanmi Oyegbola, Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office; Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu Adegbite, Permanent Secretary, Basic and Secondary Education; Mrs. Bopo Oyekan Ismaila, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture; Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, Tutor General/Permanent Secretary, Education District II; Dr. Sulaiman Ogunmuyiwa, Director General, Office of Education Quality Assurance, as well as directors from the State Public Service, teachers, parents, and family members.
