Ahead of the examinations conducted by the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), no fewer than 115 candidates have participated in the Abdullahi Muhammed Lauya free NTC and NABTEB Trade Test, with plans for their sponsorship upon successful completion.
Hon. Abdullahi Muhammed Lauya, the member representing Karim-Lamido, Ardo-Kola and Lau Federal Constituency, has pledged to sponsor all candidates who successfully pass the examination.
The screening exercise took place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, attracting participants from the three local government areas within the constituency.
The initiative is aimed at equipping young people with business and technical skills that will enable them to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to economic development within their communities.
Speaking on the programme, one of the participants, Isma’ila Gambo from Karim-Lamido Local Government Area, described the initiative as a clear demonstration of Hon. Lauya’s commitment to youth empowerment in the constituency.
He commended the lawmaker for what he described as effective representation and expressed optimism that beneficiaries would gain valuable skills through the programme. Gambo also assured the lawmaker of continued support, particularly toward his anticipated re-election bid in 2027.
Upon completion of the NABTEB programme, successful participants will be awarded the National Business Certificate (NBC) and the National Technical Certificate (NTC).
Meanwhile, the National Business and Technical Examinations Board has announced that registration for the 2026 NBC and NTC examinations opened on January 26 and will close on May 31, 2026. The examinations are scheduled to commence nationwide on June 15, 2026.
NABTEB certifications are designed to promote skills acquisition, enhance employability, and support academic progression by equipping candidates with practical technical and business competencies.
