Manchester United were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against AFC Bournemouth in an entertaining Premier League encounter on Friday night.
The visitors took the lead in the 61st minute when Bruno Fernandes converted from the penalty spot to put United ahead. However, Bournemouth responded quickly, with Ryan Christie equalising just six minutes later in the 67th minute.
United regained their advantage in the 71st minute after a defensive error saw James Hill turn the ball into his own net. But the hosts refused to back down and found a second equaliser in the 81st minute, as Eli Junior Kroupi calmly slotted home from the penalty spot to make it 2-2.
Despite both sides pushing for a winner in the closing stages, neither could find the decisive goal as the match ended level.
The result leaves Manchester United in third place on the Premier League table, missing an opportunity to close the gap on the leaders, while AFC Bournemouth remain in 10th position, continuing their steady run in mid-table.
