Senator Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South in the National Assembly, has called on President Bola Tinubu to address the growing hardships faced by Nigerians before the situation worsens. In a statement released on Friday in Abuja, Ndume accused certain individuals close to the president of pushing harmful reforms and policies aimed at destabilizing the government.

He stated, “Those determined to tarnish the president’s image will stop at nothing, inflicting pain on Nigerians through so-called reforms until the situation spirals out of control, leaving the president to take the blame.” Ndume urged the Tinubu administration to tackle the impact of hyperinflation, which has been exacerbated by repeated price hikes of essential goods and services.

“I’m appealing to him (Tinubu) to stand firm against those who seek to turn the people against his administration. The hardship these individuals are causing is becoming unbearable. I’m currently in Borno, and I see the suffering, hunger, frustration, and anger firsthand,” he added.

The senator explained that many families in Borno are now unable to feed themselves, with the frequent price increases making the situation intolerable. He also highlighted the difficulties farmers face in transporting their products due to skyrocketing transportation costs.

“I’m begging him (Tinubu) to take action before it’s too late. It’s dangerous to test the patience of Nigerians, and this is exactly what these bad advisers are doing,” Ndume warned. He urged the president to immediately address these pressing issues upon his return to the country, stating that the purchasing power of Nigerians has deteriorated to the point where they can no longer afford the daily burdens imposed by these so-called enemies of the state.
