The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has warned newly promoted senior officers that their elevation is not a reward but a call to higher responsibility, stressing that strict accountability will define their leadership going forward.
Disu gave the charge on Monday at the decoration ceremony of newly promoted Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs), held at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall in Abuja.

He made it clear that there would be zero tolerance for indiscipline, corruption, abuse of office, or dereliction of duty, adding that senior officers would be held accountable not only for their actions but also for the conduct of personnel under their command.
