The Nigerian Army announced on its social media platforms today that troops involved in Operation HADIN KAI have arrested 18 people accused of helping Boko Haram terrorists by providing supplies and other logistics in the North East.

According to the Army, “Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have apprehended 18 people connected to providing logistics to Boko Haram terrorists, revealing a worrying trend of civilian participation in networks that aid insurgent operations in the North East.”

The Army added that preliminary investigations show the suspects were intercepted while moving through Gubio towards the Gudumbali axis, allegedly carrying supplies for the terrorists. “Confessions reportedly suggest that the individuals were drawn into the illicit trade largely due to personal economic challenges,” the Army said.

The Nigerian Army warned citizens not to collaborate with terrorist groups, stressing that providing logistics, intelligence, or other assistance “remains a serious offence, with grave consequences for national security and the safety of innocent lives.” The Army also called on communities to report suspicious activities and support socio-economic programs that help affected areas.

The Army said it remains committed to protecting communities, noting that “lasting peace and stability can only be achieved through a unified approach, where security operations are complemented by broad-based developmental efforts and strong community partnerships.”
