Abuja, Nigeria— The Nigerian Army announced today that it has introduced a technology-based system to improve inspections and project compliance, following a workshop held on 20 January 2026 at the Army War College Nigeria, Asokoro.
The four day workshop, organised by the Directorate of Inspections and Compliance, focused on using digital tools to ensure projects meet required standards and resources are properly managed.
Speaking at the event, the Chief of Logistics, Major General Adekunle Adeyinka, representing the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, said the move was necessary to replace outdated manual inspection methods and strengthen accountability across the Army.
The Director of Inspections and Compliance, Major General Auwalu Mahmuda, said officers from different Army formations and technical experts participated in the workshop, which is part of the Army’s broader transformation agenda.
The Army said the technology driven inspections aim to improve transparency, operational readiness, and the efficient use of resources in all ongoing and future projects.
