Abuja, Nigeria— The Nigerian Army announced today, Thursday, that the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has directed the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, to align its training curriculum with Nigeria’s evolving security realities.
According to the Nigerian Army, Lieutenant General Shaibu gave the directive while receiving the Commandant of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Air Vice Marshal Alfred Olugbenga Shogbanmu, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja. The Nigerian Army said the Chief of Army Staff commended the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, for its role in producing competent officers and noted that the country’s security environment required adaptive training.
The Nigerian Army stated that Lieutenant General Shaibu also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, through infrastructure development and capacity building. The Nigerian Army said the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, is critical for developing staff officers whose professionalism influences operational effectiveness nationwide.
In remarks attributed to the Nigerian Army, Air Vice Marshal Shogbanmu thanked the Nigerian Army for its support, including the establishment of a simulation centre and the rehabilitation of key facilities. The Nigerian Army said the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, would continue refining its academic and professional programmes to meet contemporary security demands and enhance inter agency cooperation.
