The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike says he has no regret working with President Bola Tinubu.
The Minister stated this on Monday in Abuja during his monthly media chat. Speaking on the just concluded FCT Area Council Election, Wike maintained that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) never consulted him on the candidates they are fielding for the election.
“As a minister, my party never consulted me on the candidates they were presenting at the FCT elections.”
“The only candidates who told me they were running were those supporting the president, and I supported only those backing President Tinubu’s reelection. It’s a big risk contesting elections under PDP due to its leadership uncertainty,” he added.
The Minister has been at the centre of controversies surrounding the FCT Area Council Election especially for declaring support for APC candidates while he remains in the PDP.
In the six Area Councils of the FCT, the APC won in five councils while the PDP won in just one.
