Abuja, Nigeria —The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has extended the grace period for enforcing the tinted glass permit requirement to August 12, 2025, following public outcry and feedback on the reactivation of its digital application process.
This decision was approved by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure a more transparent, accessible, and citizen-friendly process.

The review includes enhanced verification features and simplified procedures to reduce delays and eliminate unnecessary hurdles for applicants.
The public is reminded to use the official platform, possap.gov.ng, for all applications and renewals. Additionally, citizens are encouraged to report any incidents of unauthorized charges or extortion during the application or biometric capturing process by contacting police authorities via the dedicated hotline: 09169967000.
Reaffirming its commitment to public safety and digital innovation, the NPF thanked Nigerians for their patience and cooperation as reforms to improve service delivery continue.
