The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has emphasized the need for officers to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in protecting Very Important Persons (VIPs).

Audi made this statement at a three-day VIP leadership and management workshop in Abuja, where state commandants, VIP commanders, and armorers from across the country gathered to sharpen their skills.

The CG warned that his administration won’t tolerate misconduct, saying personnel found sabotaging the Corps’ efforts will face sanctions. He stressed that the VIP protection mandate, given by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is a sacred trust that must be upheld.

“This administration will sanction any personnel found sabotaging the Corps’ efforts in implementing the VIP mandate,” the CG stated. “This responsibility must be carried out to the admiration of the government and Nigerians to justify the confidence reposed in us.”

The workshop aimed to boost leadership capacity, improve interdepartmental coordination, and reinforce professionalism in armory management and decision-making. Audi commended VIP National Commander Anyor Donald for his professionalism, urging others to follow suit.

Top officials, including Deputy Commandants General Zakari Ibrahim Ningi, fdc; Nnamdi Nwinyi; Pedro Awili Ideba; and Professor Tyoor Frederick Terhemba, all echoing the need for heightened accountability in the field.
