In an effort to improve the lives of orphans, wealthy individuals have been urged to support and assist them so they can live more comfortably within society.
The Chairman of the Orphan Support Committee of One Ummah, under the leadership of Women in Da’awa in Adamawa State, Hajiya Amina Kabir, made the appeal while distributing food items to orphans to enable them observe the fasting month of Ramadan with ease.
Hajiya Amina Kabir explained that their decision to support orphans was inspired by the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), which emphasize the great importance and reward attached to caring for orphans.
She also advised the orphans to make good use of the items given to them in order to improve their lives and strive for a better future.
Hajiya Amina further prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the sins of the deceased parents of the children and grant the orphans patience, strength, and guidance as they grow.
Speaking on behalf of the guardians, Zainab Yahaya expressed her gratitude and happiness over the support received. She prayed that Allah would reward the One Ummah organization abundantly for its kindness and generosity.
She noted that the organization has spent many years supporting orphans in different ways, including providing education, vocational training, clothing, food items, and other forms of assistance.
Some of the beneficiaries also expressed appreciation for the gesture, assuring that they would make good use of the items provided.
They added that One Ummah has supported them in various ways over the years, including organizing a special visit to Abuja, which they described as an encouraging and memorable experience.
The beneficiaries further called on other organizations and wealthy individuals to emulate One Ummah by supporting orphans so they can live better lives within the community.
Items distributed to the orphans included rice, beans, groundnut oil, Maggi seasoning, salt, sugar, and other food supplies.
