The Peoples Democratic Party has announced the commencement of a nationwide digital membership registration exercise scheduled to begin on Monday, March 2, 2026.

The party, in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, said the exercise was approved by the National Working Committee and will run for three weeks across all wards in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to the statement, the registration is aimed at compiling a digital membership register in compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026.

“The essence of this exercise is to compile the digital membership register in compliance with the Electoral Act 2026, which requires all political parties to submit the digital register of their members to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),” the statement read in part.

The party noted that the exercise will take place at ward, chapter and state offices of the party, except on Sundays, while special cases will be handled at the National Secretariat.

It added that a committee headed by the National Organising Secretary, Hon. Theophilus Daka Shan, has been constituted to supervise the process and address complaints that may arise during the registration period.

PDP urged members and the general public to visit the nearest party office within their wards to participate in the exercise.
