The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, has expressed confidence that ongoing reconciliation efforts within the party are yielding positive results.
Turaki made this known on Friday in Abuja after observing the Eid al-Fitr prayers. He used the occasion to call on Nigerians to embrace peace and remain vigilant in safeguarding the country’s democracy as it approaches a critical political transition.

Addressing party faithful and the general public, the embattled PDP chairman stressed the importance of unity, tolerance, and adherence to the values of peace as enshrined in religious teachings. He urged citizens to play an active role in protecting democratic ideals and sustaining national stability.

“As a nation, we must remain steadfast in our pursuit of peace and justice. Democracy can only thrive where there is vigilance, participation, and respect for the rule of law,” he said.

Turaki also expressed optimism about the PDP’s future, assuring members that the party would overcome its current challenges and emerge stronger. He referenced the position of the Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan, noting that its call for reconciliation would strengthen internal cohesion within the party.

He further urged Nigerians to sustain prayers for the nation, emphasizing the need for divine guidance in navigating the present political climate. Turaki called for a collective commitment to peace, progress, and prosperity, noting that national unity remains essential for sustainable development in Nigeria.
