Abuja, Nigeria
A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George has hunted that the party will appeal the judgement that nullified the party’s national convention held last year in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
The PDP chieftain stated this while speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Friday, and monitored by AfrikTimes.
According to George, the judgement, which recognized the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike-backed faction is “absolutely disgusting.”
Recall that the Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan nullified the PDP National Convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15, 2025.
The convention produced Tanimu Turaki as the National Chairman of the party but thereafter, Justice Uche Agomoh, barred members of the Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee, NWC, from parading themselves as national officers of the PDP.
Reacting to the development on Friday, George said, “INEC monitored the National Convention of our party in Ibadan, as that is the party’s procedure. It is curious to know where and how the convention of the Wike faction was monitored, if at all.”
“The judgement from Ibadan deviated from the matter before the judge; we’ll appeal this judgement,” he added.
