Bukayo Saka’s return to the Arsenal squad, for the first time since His hamstring injury against Leeds a month ago, is a boost for Arsenal, as is the return for William Saliba following an ankle problem, that battle between Him and Gabriel and Erling Haaland will be a fascinating watch.

However, a word of caution, Saka came off the team bus as an injury doubt for Arsenal’s game against City in late 2023 and was not in the matchday squad.

Arsenal have been flawless here so far this season, scoring eight goals and conceding none in their games against Leeds and Nottingham Forest. they will aim to keep it going today, even if it’s unlikely to be so straightforward.

There is a buzz around the ground for what feels like a huge game, even at this early point in the season, but Arsenal are not the only ones in good form, Manchester City, and Erling Haaland in particular, have been excellent in their last two games.

Liverpool have got the best team if you are picking a best XI, but in terms of squad wise, Arsenal have the best squad and I think they have a great opportunity this season in terms of winning the title.

Arsenal have done really well at the start of the season, but Liverpool just continually winning just puts pressure, we know it is early, but I think this is a huge game for Arsenal, they do not have to get three points, but they certainly do not want to be looking at Liverpool and being five points behind them.

GadiPep Guardiola, Manchester City boss

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has joked that any success for Arsenal this season will be due to the money they’ve spent during the summer, after criticism over his own City team.

“I wanna say to my friend Mikel Arteta, if He wins the title it will be just because of spend, not because he works a lot or his players”., He sad.

Like Liverpool, if Arne wins again it will be because he’s spent a lot of money, because it’s not just Man City that did that, every club can do whatever they want, I know how I’ve been treated has been completely different, but what He (Arteta) wants to spend is because He wanted to and it’s fine.

All I can say is they have been wise to spend what they believe they need to compete against the best teams in the Premier League, in Europe and they reach that level, step by step, window by window, Arsenal are getting better, last season in Europe, making a step forward and for Me they are the most solid team, they don’t make any mistakes at the back and it’s this incredible solid team.

They have pace up front, they have of course set pieces with Nicolas Jover, He was there too, in every department, what a team, but we know it, so every team is better and better and better and I know the quality that all of them have.

Pep Guardiola is “unsure” as to whether Rodri will be fit enough to feature in the squad for Sunday’s game against Arsenal, “It’s a good question, I don’t know yet,” He said.

“He asked to come off  against Napoli but He’s fine, He was so smart”, I know the result was not over, 1-0 is always tricky but if He does not feel good, as always we’ve tried to talk, we have to sustain you and if you feel that is not comfortable, it is better to come off, We’ll see day by day, but it is important already He’s played two games.

Rodri

“With him on the pitch we feel more comfortable but, of course, after coming from a tough injury you have to be alert and we will decide on Sunday how he does feel.”
