The National Leader of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatissunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau, has called on Muslims across the country to use the holy month of Ramadan to intensify prayers, give charity, and show kindness to the less privileged as part of efforts to address Nigeria’s security challenges.
Sheikh Bala Lau made the call during his Friday sermon at the Central Juma’at Mosque in Doubeli, Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State. He urged the Muslim Ummah to focus on worship, supplications, and acts of charity in order to continually seek the help of Almighty Allah.
He emphasized the need for Muslims to support orphans and assist the less privileged so they can enjoy a better life within the community. According to him, compassion, unity, and generosity are essential values that should define the Ramadan period.
The cleric described the fasting month as a period of immense virtue and spiritual significance, warning Muslims against negligence in performing acts of righteousness. He reminded worshippers that Ramadan is the month in which the Holy Qur’an was revealed and encouraged increased recitation and reflection on its teachings.
Sheikh Bala Lau also urged Muslims to refrain from committing sins and to dedicate themselves to sincere worship and prayers to attain peace, stability, and development in the country.
He further disclosed that more than 4,000 Islamic scholars, including Qur’anic reciters and teachers, have been deployed within and outside Nigeria to conduct Tafsir during the Ramadan fasting period.
