Ruben Amorim Faces Pressure

Manchester United’s New season has begun, but two matches in, Ruben Amorim is already feeling the pressure. The team’s performance so far has left fans concerned and questioning whether changes are needed. Let’s take a detailed look at what’s going wrong for the Red Devils and why this season could be tougher than expected.

Manchester United has only managed 28 points from 87 available in the Premier League. This record is far below expectations and would usually put a manager’s job at risk. While it is still early in the season, the statistics show a worrying pattern. Only two matches have been played so far, but fans are already seeing signs of problems that plagued the team last season.

The first match of the season was against Arsenal at Old Trafford, where United narrowly lost. The second match saw them face Fulham away, resulting in a 1-1 draw. The performance in these games highlighted many of the old issues that have not yet been solved under Amorim’s management.

The Fulham match was frustrating for Manchester United fans. In the first half, United created chances but failed to convert them into goals. One of the most critical moments came when team captain Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty, a moment that could have turned the game in United’s favor.

In the second half, United did take the lead through an own goal by Fulham’s defender. However, the goal was controversial. Yoro appeared to shove Bassey with both hands before heading the ball, yet the referee allowed the goal. Despite taking the lead, United could not hold onto it. Fulham equalized after Smith Rowe came off the bench and scored with his first touch. This moment highlighted the impact of substitutes, showing that Marco Silva’s decisions improved Fulham’s performance, while Ruben Amorim’s changes did not help United.

Manchester United spent heavily on transfers to strengthen their attack, but the results have not matched the investment. Meanwhile, Fulham, under Marco Silva, has been competitive without spending much money. Seeing Fulham perform well while United struggles has frustrated fans even more.

Another concern is the use of players. Kobbie Mainoo, a promising young midfielder, has been left on the bench, even though United’s midfield looks weak and ordinary. When Ugarte came on as a substitute, he made little to no impact on the game. The team’s goalkeeper, Bayindir, also appeared shaky during corners, raising questions about the team’s defensive organization.

Though only two games have been played, the warning signs are flashing red. With 28 points from 29 matches last season, United already have a poor record, and fans are worried about a repeat. The Mainoo situation is confusing, and the money spent on transfers raises questions if the system is not working.

It’s important to remember that new signings need time to adjust and the team needs time to click under a new system. However, if United are outside the top 10 by November, fans and experts alike may start to panic.

Manchester United’s next league match is against newly promoted Burnley at Old Trafford. A win is essential to boost confidence and start the season on a stronger note. Fans will be watching closely to see if Amorim can make the necessary changes to turn performances around.

If United cannot improve quickly, the pressure on Amorim will only increase. The early season struggles highlight that spending money on transfers alone is not enough; strategy, team management, and effective use of players are crucial.
