Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, on Monday officially commissioned the newly completed Federal Housing Estate road network in Adamawa State, a project executed by the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

‎The project, situated in the Federal Housing Estate in Girei Local Government Area, includes reinforced concrete drains, culverts, and a 3.5-kilometre stormwater drainage system. It is designed to improve access, enhance mobility, and address flooding challenges within the estate and surrounding communities.

‎Speaking at the event, Dr. Saraki commended Governor Fintiri for his consistent commitment to people-oriented infrastructural development.

He praised the governor’s leadership qualities, describing him as a leader driven by integrity and dedication to the welfare of Adamawa residents.

The former Senate President urged citizens to continue supporting the Fintiri administration, noting that such backing would enable the government to deliver even more developmental projects across the state.

‎In his remarks, Governor Fintiri said the commissioning symbolized more than the completion of a road project, describing it as evidence of his administration’s focus on accountability, results-driven governance, and service delivery.

‎He explained that the road network would reduce travel time, boost economic activities, and improve social and commercial interactions within the estate and adjoining areas.

‎Governor Fintiri recalled that the project was initiated in May 2024 to resolve long-standing access and mobility problems. He reaffirmed his government’s determination to complete all awarded projects and eliminate the problem of abandoned works

‎He further assured residents that ongoing and future projects would be executed diligently and transparently, emphasizing that no part of the state would be neglected in the development agenda.

‎Earlier, the Commissioner for Works and Energy, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar, described the road network as a vital internal link benefiting residents, traders, commuters, and service providers. He noted that the project has improved road safety, increased property values, reduced travel time, and created employment opportunities during construction.

He commended the contractors for completing the project ahead of schedule and appealed to residents to protect the drainage infrastructure from misuse.

‎Goodwill messages were delivered by the Chairman of Girei Local Government Area, Adamu Dallatu; the member representing Girei Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Abubakar Abdullahi; the District Head of Girei; the Abandoma of Adamawa, Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Musa; and Halilu Hammamjoda.

The speakers applauded Governor Fintiri for his impressive infrastructural achievements and sustained commitment to grassroots development.
