Vice President Kashim Shettima, today, departed Abuja for Kano State, following the tragic fire incident at the Singer Market, to commiserate with families of the victims of the weekend fire outbreak.
Media aide to the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha, in a statement said his principal will be leading a high-powered Federal Government delegation to express condolences and support for the victims of the Singer Market fire disaster in the state at the instance of President Bola Tinubu.

He said the visit, which was approved by President Tinubu, directs the delegation to also make a financial pledge in support of the victims’ families and the state of Kano.
“Afterwards, the Vice President is scheduled to receive the Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, into the All Progressives Congress fold, following his notice of defection to the APC weeks earlier,” Nkwocha said.

Members of the delegation include the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State; Senator Kawu Ismaila; and Abubakar Kabir Bichi, the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriations.
Others include the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, and former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege.
