Reports from Adamawa State indicate that community leaders and security agencies are sustaining efforts to strengthen collaboration in order to promote peace and security across the state.
The Chairman of the Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (CBAN), Adamawa State Chapter, Malam Ali Muhammad Alhaya’u, representing the Shuwa Arab pastoralists, stated that for over thirty-eight years he has contributed significantly to fostering peace, mutual understanding, and harmonious coexistence among communities.
He called on all stakeholders to support one another, emphasizing the slogan, “we move together, we survive together,” stressing that peace remains the foundation for sustainable development.
In his response, the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Adamawa State Command, Malam Sani Sule Jega, received the delegation warmly and expressed appreciation for the visit.
He explained that the Immigration Service operates strictly in line with established laws and regulations, noting that visitors are not subjected to deportation as long as they comply with lawful procedures governing entry and exit. According to him, the enforcement of law and order remains the core responsibility of the Service.
Malam Sani Sule Jega further appealed for improved living conditions for citizens and called for continued cooperation and support from the public to enhance the effectiveness of the Service’s operations.
He wished the delegation well and emphasized that collaboration between communities and security agencies plays a vital role in identifying criminal elements and ensuring sustainable security.
During the visit, Sheikh Adam Umar, in an interview conducted in Hausa, explained that the purpose of the engagement was to strengthen mutual understanding, build trust between pastoralists and security agencies, and ensure the continuity of peace across Adamawa State.
The visit underscored the importance of synergy among community leaders, security agencies, and religious leaders in safeguarding peace, security, and the protection of lives and property throughout the state.
