His father, Chief Godspower Nwabali, aged 72, passed away in November 2024, followed by his mother, Mrs. Grace Nwabali, aged 63, on January 1, 2025.

The back-to-back losses left the 28-year-old footballer navigating profound grief while maintaining his professional commitments.
The burial ceremonies were marked by solemnity and community support.

On June 5, a Service of Songs honored both parents. The following day, Mrs. Grace Nwabali’s remains were moved from Gbegbe Hospital Mortuary to her father’s compound and then to her husband’s residence for lying in state.

On June 7, Chief Godspower Nwabali’s body was received by the Okwuzi Council of Chiefs before burial, adhering to local traditions.
