By R&B sensation Temilade Openiyi, known globally as Tems, recently shared insights into her life as a superstar in Nigeria. In a recent interview on Big Boy TV in the United States, Tems reflected on the challenges of her celebrity status back home, revealing how it often complicates her daily movements.
Tems recalled a close call in December when she was nearly mobbed while driving in Lagos, a reminder of her popularity’s impact. She explained that due to her fame, she can no longer drive in Nigeria without a police escort.
“I used to drive in Nigeria, but now I can’t. I almost got mobbed last December. If I want to drive, I must have police escorts at the front and the back,” she said.
While adjusting to fame has been difficult for the introverted singer, Tems shared that she’s gradually grown more comfortable with her elevated status.
