President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the recent terrorist attacks in Maiduguri, describing the incidents as disturbing and tragic.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President commiserated with the people of Borno State, mourning those who lost their lives and extending sympathy to the injured, while reaffirming his administration’s solidarity with residents of the state.

Tinubu described the attacks as “desperate and frantic attempts” by terrorist groups under sustained pressure from Nigerian security forces, insisting that such acts were aimed at spreading fear but would ultimately fail.

The President praised the bravery and resilience of the armed forces and civilian task forces, noting that they successfully repelled coordinated assaults on military positions in the state. He further disclosed that he had recently approved additional equipment and operational support for security agencies following a high-level meeting with intelligence and security chiefs. According to him, the deployment of these resources is already underway.

As part of immediate measures, Tinubu directed security chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri to oversee operations firsthand, while also instructing emergency response agencies to ensure adequate medical care for those injured in the attacks.

Reaffirming his administration’s resolve, the President declared that terrorists would find no safe haven anywhere in Nigeria, vowing that they would be tracked down and defeated.
