Residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) awaits the declaration of results of the ongoing Area Council Polls in the nations capital. The election is to elect chairmen and councillors to the six Area Councils of AMAC, Kuje, Abaji, Kwali, Bwari and Gwagwalada.
AfrikTimes monitored the election especially in the Apo District of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC). Speaking with voters, some expressed confidence in the process while others remained indifferent.
A voter who spoke with AfrikTimes on the condition of anonymity, said the turnout in his polling unit wasn’t encouraging as residents went about their usual business instead of coming out to vote.
Another voter, simply identified as Patricia hailed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for arriving at her polling unit on time and starting the process at about few minutes past 8am.
