By The Women in Da’awa group in Adamawa State has provided support to prison inmates and sick patients in hospitals by distributing food items and other essentials as part of efforts to ease their living conditions during the holy month of Ramadan.
As part of the outreach, members of the group visited correctional facilities in Jimeta, located in Yola North Local Government Area, and Yolde Pate in Yola South Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking during the visit, the Public Relations Officer of Women in Da’awa in Adamawa State, Hajiya Aishatu Babadiya, urged the inmates to reflect on their past actions and use their time in prison as an opportunity to reform.
She expressed hope that once they regain their freedom, they would lead better lives and avoid returning to prison.
Babadiya also advised the inmates to remain obedient to prison authorities and maintain good conduct, noting that such behaviour could help them secure a better future.
She further encouraged them to intensify their acts of worship, particularly during the last ten days of Ramadan, and to seek the help of Almighty Allah in overcoming their present challenges.
During a separate visit to a hospital, the Women in Da’awa members offered prayers for the sick, asking Almighty Allah to grant them quick recovery and restore them to good health.
They also encouraged the patients to remain hopeful and continue praying for healing so they could return home in good condition.
The group commended the hospital staff for their dedication and the care they provide to patients.
Some of the patients expressed appreciation to the Women in Da’awa group for their gesture, describing the support as timely and helpful.
Items distributed during the outreach included rice, cooking oil and other essential supplies.
