Demolition work has commenced at the Adamawa State Civil Service Commission Headquarters in Jimeta, Yola, signaling the beginning of a major renovation and upgrade project approved by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The redevelopment aims to transform the facility into a modern, functional government complex designed to enhance efficiency and service delivery within the state civil service.
Confirming the development on Wednesday in Yola, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Abubakar Umar Maiha, disclosed that construction activities have already begun following the removal of sections of the old structure to pave the way for the new project.
He explained that the project is fully funded by the Adamawa State Government and forms part of Governor Fintiri’s broader urban renewal and public infrastructure transformation agenda.
According to Maiha, the upgrade reflects the Governor’s commitment to creating conducive working environments for civil servants and repositioning government institutions to meet contemporary standards.
The project scope includes extensive remodeling of existing buildings and the construction of new facilities such as an administrative block, modern office complex, ICT centre, gatehouse, generator house, perimeter fencing, and other supporting infrastructure.
The renovation was approved by the Adamawa State Executive Council at its 20th meeting held in October 2025, with a total contract value of ₦837 million. The project is scheduled for completion within six months.
The overhaul of the Civil Service Commission headquarters represents another significant milestone in Governor Fintiri’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance structures, improve workplace conditions, and modernize public institutions across Adamawa State.
