Lagos, Nigeria – The Lagos State Government announced today that LASCOPA General Manager, Afolabi Solebo, Esq., paid a courtesy visit to the management of the Lagos State Number Plate Production Authority (LSNPPA) as part of ongoing efforts to protect motorists’ rights, according to LASCOPA.
LASCOPA stated that during the visit, Solebo was received by the LSNPPA Managing Director/CEO, Olayanju Olayinka Cole.
The agencies said the engagement focused on concerns over faded and damaged motor vehicle number plates and the need for the procurement of new standard plates to replace old or defective ones issued by the Lagos State Government.
LASCOPA noted that the visit follows an earlier meeting held two weeks ago between the agency and the Permanent Secretary, Motor Vehicle Administration, Rasheed Muri-Okunola, to address related challenges affecting motorists across the state.
The LSNPPA Managing Director/CEO reportedly advised motorists to take proper care of their number plates and cautioned against cleaning them with chemicals or abrasive materials, including aromatic solvents, alcohol, acetone, petrol, brake oil, or kerosene, the agencies said.
LASCOPA reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding consumer and motorist rights and ensuring improved service delivery across Lagos State, according to a statement by the agency.
