The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has confirmed the date for the 2026 President Beach Volleyball Cup. The national championship will take place from February 12 to 18, 2026, at the Murtala Mohammed Square in Kaduna State.
The competition, regarded as one of the Federation’s flagship beach volleyball events, will feature competitions in the Senior Men and Women categories, as well as Under-17 Boys and Girls divisions. The inclusion of youth and senior categories underscores the NVBF’s commitment to grassroots development and the creation of a structured pathway to elite performance.
According to the Federation, the tournament is designed to strengthen Nigeria’s beach volleyball framework, expand participation nationwide, and provide athletes with a competitive platform ahead of continental and international competitions.
The week-long event is expected to attract leading beach volleyball players, emerging talents, coaches, technical officials, and other stakeholders from across the country. Organisers say the championship will not only showcase sporting excellence but also promote youth engagement and community participation, while boosting tourism and local economic activity in Kaduna State.

The NVBF stated that the competition aligns with its broader strategic objectives of expanding volleyball development across all regions of the country, increasing athlete exposure, and promoting gender inclusion by ensuring equal participation opportunities for male and female athletes.
In addition to determining national champions, the tournament will serve as a talent identification platform for future national team selections, further positioning beach volleyball as a growing and competitive sport within Nigeria.
The Federation however, called on state associations, clubs, schools, sponsors, media organisations, and the general public to support the event. Details regarding registration, technical meetings, match schedules, and other event logistics will be released through the Federation’s official communication channels.
The NVBF reiterated its commitment to advancing volleyball development and strengthening Nigeria’s presence in beach volleyball at both continental and global levels.
