Deborah Pam Badung has emerged as the first Nigerian woman in the Lagos City Marathon to cross the line at 2:55:46, delivering a spirited performance at the 2026 edition of the competition.
Badung showed resilience and tactical discipline over the 42-kilometre distance, holding her pace against a competitive field that featured elite runners from across Africa and beyond.
Her finishing time of 2 hours, 55 minutes and 46 seconds secured her national bragging rights and underlined her growing status in Nigeria’s long-distance running scene.
The Lagos City Marathon, one of Africa’s premier road races, once again drew thousands of participants, turning the streets of Lagos into a festival of endurance and athletic excellence.
For Badung, the result represents a significant milestone, as she continues to push for improved personal bests and greater recognition on the continental stage.
