The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has announced the exit of Steve Tikolo as Head Coach of the Senior Men’s National Team.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Federation’s Public Relations Officer, Musa Bodie, the decision was reached by mutual agreement, bringing to an end nearly 40 months of service.

During his tenure, Tikolo oversaw a period of measurable progress for Nigerian cricket. Under his leadership, the national team improved its position in the ICC T20 rankings, climbing from 42nd to 37th. Nigeria also consolidated its status as a leading force in West African cricket while showing greater competitiveness against higher-ranked East African opposition.

NCF President Dr. Uyi Akpata while praising Tikolo’s contribution, noted that his impact extended beyond match results, highlighting the coach’s emphasis on discipline, teamwork, passion and professionalism as part of a lasting legacy within the squad.

Tikolo, in his farewell remarks, expressed appreciation to the Federation, players and staff for their support during his time in charge. He said he departs with positive memories and confidence that the team will continue on its upward trajectory.

The NCF confirmed that further details regarding the transition process and the appointment of a new Head Coach and High-Performance Manager will be communicated in due course.
