Troops of Operation HADIN KAI under the Joint Task Force (North-East), in collaboration with local vigilantes and hunters, have intensified operations against Boko Haram elements in Adamawa and Borno States, arresting suspected collaborators and neutralising insurgents during coordinated missions.
In Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, troops of Sector 4 under the 28 Task Force Brigade apprehended a 28-year-old suspect, Ismail Muhammed, identified as a logistics supplier to the terrorist group. Recovered items from the suspect included an AK-47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements and assorted foodstuffs. He is currently in custody and undergoing investigation.
In a separate operation in Madagali Local Government Area, troops neutralised a terrorist commander identified as Abdullahi Mafa during an ambush along the Visik River line. An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered from the scene, according to military sources.
Troops acting on intelligence also arrested a 64-year-old suspect, Dauda Usman Gubula, at Madagali Motor Park. He was alleged to be a collaborator and drone supplier to the insurgents. Items recovered from him included two aerial drones, drone accessories and 20 solar power banks believed to have been used to support terrorist activities.
Meanwhile, in Ngamdu, Borno State, troops of Sector 2, working alongside local vigilantes and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, repelled insurgent activity and neutralised a suspected informant who attempted to breach defensive positions. Logistic items were also recovered during the operation.
Military authorities said the operations are part of sustained efforts to disrupt insurgent supply networks, restore security and protect communities across the North-East. The High Command commended the troops for their dedication and urged them to maintain the operational momentum.
