The Member representing Mayo Belwa Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Musa Mahmud Kallamu, has commenced the distribution of food items and cash assistance to vulnerable residents as part of his Ramadan outreach programme.
The initiative, which spans 26 Juma’at mosques, households, and community forums across Mayo Belwa, is designed to cushion the impact of economic hardship and support fasting families during the holy month.
Represented by his Special Assistant, Abubakar Adamu, Kallamu emphasized the spiritual significance of charity in Ramadan, calling on well-meaning individuals to extend helping hands to orphans and the less privileged in society.
The lawmaker, who chairs the House Standing Committee on Information, explained that the relief materials were carefully distributed through mosques, homes, and community gatherings to ensure equity and broad coverage among beneficiaries.
In his remarks, the Special Assistant on Political Affairs, Alhaji Rabiu Ibrahim, said constituents remain proud of Kallamu’s sustained generosity and dedication to their welfare.
Beneficiaries who spoke in separate interviews expressed appreciation for the timely intervention, noting that the support would significantly ease the burden of providing food and other essentials during Ramadan.
