Six members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Adamawa State House of Assembly have resigned their membership of the party, deepening the political uncertainty within the state legislature.

Their resignation brings to seven the number of PDP lawmakers who have exited the party within two days, following the earlier announcement by Abubakar Abdullahi on Monday, February 23.

Those who tendered their resignation include the Deputy Speaker, Mohammed Buba Jidjiwa, representing Jada and Mbulo Constituency; Kefas Kalvin of Toungo Constituency; and Bulus Geoffrey, representing Leko and Koma Constituency.

Also resigning are Haruna Jilantikiri of Madagali Constituency, Kefas Emmanuel of Song Constituency, and Ahmed Jingi Bele, representing Maiha Constituency.

The wave of resignations has sparked heightened political speculation across the state, particularly amid rumours that Governor Ahmadu Fintiri may be considering a move to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Although none of the lawmakers has officially declared the political platform they intend to join, indications suggest a possible alignment with the APC.

The development marks a significant shift in the political landscape of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, with observers closely monitoring further movements in the coming days.
