Manchester City defeated Arsenal 2–0 in the FA Cup final on Sunday at Wembley Stadium, securing the first major trophy of the 2025/2026 season.
After the first half ended goalless, City took control in the second half through young defender Nico O’Reilly, who scored twice in quick succession.
O’Reilly opened the scoring in the 60th minute, capitalising on a goalkeeping error to head City in front. Just four minutes later, in the 64th minute, he struck again with another header from close range to double the lead and put the game beyond Arsenal.
Arsenal pushed for a response but struggled to break down a disciplined City side, who comfortably saw out the match to claim victory.
The triumph sees Manchester City lift the League Cup for the eighth time in their history, further underlining their dominance in domestic competitions.
