The delegation from the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE), Adamawa State Branch, has paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Commissioner of the Ministry of Works in Adamawa State, Engineer Mahmoud Sulaiman, to congratulate him on his recent appointment by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
Leading the delegation, Branch Chairman of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, Engineer Bashir Aliyu, who is also a lecturer at Modibbo Adama University, Yola, said the visit was to formally congratulate the commissioner and express appreciation to the governor for appointing a professional with proven competence to lead the ministry.
He described the appointment as timely and resourceful, noting that Engineer Sulaiman’s experience and leadership qualities would contribute significantly to the delivery of infrastructure projects across the state.
Engineer Bashir Aliyu further stated that members of the engineering body have confidence in the commissioner’s ability to strengthen professional standards and improve the quality of road construction and public works in Adamawa State. He added that the society stands ready to collaborate with the ministry in providing technical expertise and professional support toward sustainable development.
Also speaking during the visit, Engineer John Garba recalled working closely with the commissioner in previous professional engagements, describing him as a seasoned engineer with a strong record of dedication and service. He said the state government is fortunate to have appointed someone with vast technical knowledge and practical experience in engineering and project management.
In his remarks, Engineer Mundi Musa described the commissioner as a sincere and hardworking professional who has consistently demonstrated commitment to duty. He expressed confidence that Engineer Sulaiman would bring integrity and transparency to the ministry, ensuring that infrastructure projects are executed efficiently for the benefit of the people of Adamawa State.
Responding, the Commissioner for Works, Engineer Mahmoud Sulaiman, expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the trust and confidence reposed in him. He noted that his appointment was not because he was better than others, but because of the governor’s belief in his capacity to serve.
The commissioner also commended the governor for what he described as remarkable achievements in reshaping the state’s landscape through road construction, engineering architecture and human development initiatives.
Engineer Sulaiman assured the delegation of his commitment to delivering quality infrastructure and strengthening collaboration with professional bodies to advance development in the state.
The visit concluded with goodwill messages from members of the delegation and a renewed pledge to support the Ministry of Works in achieving its mandate of improving infrastructure and promoting sustainable development across Adamawa State.
