Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, announced that President Bola Tinubu left Lagos for Abuja on Wednesday after celebrating Eid-el-Fitri and returning from a visit to the United Kingdom.
This was revealed in a statement made by Bayo Onanuga on his social media accounts. Onanuga added that the plane of the President departed from the Presidential Wing of Murtala Mohammed International Airport at 6.44 pm. He also added that President Tinubu returned to Nigeria early on Friday for Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks.
The special adviser explained that the President had a number of officials who visited him in Lagos. Onanuga announced that he was received by 23 governors, including Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Aliko Dangote, members of the EU delegation, and the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC).
According to Onanuga, The Vice President Kashim Shettima informed the President about his recent visit to Borno State following the suicide bombing. Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, and former Ogun Governor Olusegun Osoba were also at the airport to see the President off, the statement added.
