By The Nigerian entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the reported death of popular Nollywood actor and model Alexx Ekubo at the age of 40 after battling stage 4 liver cancer.
Reports of his passing surfaced on Tuesday, with colleagues and close associates expressing shock and grief across social media platform.
The talented actor, widely known for his roles in romantic comedies and drama films, was said to have been receiving treatment before sadly passing away in the hospital.
His death was confirmed by several Nollywood stars, including Funke Akindele, Bolanle Ninalowo, and Godwin Nnadiekwe, who paid emotional tributes to the late actor online. Godwin Nnadiekwe took to Instagram on Tuesday evening to announce the heartbreaking news, while Ninalowo, currently in the United States, wrote: “Rest on, Alex. May God heal your family and us all.”
It was reported that the last time Alex Ekubo surfaces online was during his messy breakup with his then American fiancee, Fancy Acholonu
Fancy had called off their wedding just months before the big day, for reasons best known to her. Before the wedding was called off, Alex had reportedly invested heavily in the preparations.
